empire state of mind: NEW YORK.

It's 9:18 p.m. and I currently sit on a hotel bed in Dunkirk, New York.., roughly 600 miles from home. Today I began my journey on the biggest vacation yet. DESTINATION: CANADA. I'd like to thank the previous readers for reading my last post and I hope it was enjoyable. Well the next couple posts over the next few days will be filled with loads of stuff; you might actually feel like you're with me. You ready? LET'S GO.

Let me first start off by saying I hate car rides, typically the long 8 hour ones. A couple years back I went to D.C. for a program I was in, and they expected me to sit in a car for 15 hours; well that wasn't happening, so I flew. Unfortunately I couldn't get out of this one. Before leaving the hometown we stopped at McDonalds and I got my Wild Berry Smoothie for breakfast. It was delish. The next few hours consisted of some power naps and you can probably guess: listening to MUSIC. After crossing over into Ohio and passing the Cincinnati Bengals Stadium- AWESOME.. we stopped at a gas station and I got a Mountain Dew and some Reese's Pieces. I then attempted to play Sudoku and that didn't work out..it just gave me a headache. You think someone with a 4.0 GPA could solve a puzzle like that, not me; well not in a car at least. After we got into Pennsylvania a few hours later we stopped and ate Golden Corral, and headed over to Krispy Kreme for dessert and I got my lemon filled doughnut. Life is complete.
I had been anticipating the moment where I would pass over the New York state line, the home to my future dream college: Columbia University of Journalism..that I was 490 miles away from . I wanted a picture of the sign, but due to the rain and speed we were going at I want able to. The next thing that happened was really cool and a coincidence: Empire State of Mind played on the radio right when we passed.."now you're in New York." it was awesome., and after a few more miles I ended up here, in is cozy bed.
